WHAT IS THE SCARECROW CONTEST?

The Midhurst Scarecrow Contest is an annual contest celebrating Midhurst's agricultural roots. Organized and hosted by the Midhurst Community Recreation Association, this contest has been a tradition of family fun and community spirit for over a decade. Residents and businesses alike take part each year by building and decorating a scarecrow for the entire neighbourhood to see. The Scarecrow Contest has become an international staple with people around the world checking out the entries online and voting for their favourites. So, what are you waiting for? Let's get building!

HOW DO I TAKE PART?

1. Build and decorate a scarecrow on your front lawn, front porch, or in front of your business. Choose a category to enter: Traditional, Funny, or Scary/Halloween.

2. Take a photo and submit it either by email to info@villageofmidhurst.ca or via the form. Be sure to include your name, which category you're entering, and your address if you want to be added to our Scarecrow Driving Map. Deadline is October 27 at midnight.

3. The week of October 28, vote for your favourites on this website and look out for a driving map to check them out in-person!
